The building
The frontage had visible algae, dirt and staining across the render and cladding. There were also drainage and bird-related issues that needed to be dealt with as part of the same package.
The challenge
The building sits on a busy High Street with shops nearby and pedestrians passing throughout the day. Before cleaning started, the work had to be planned around the public, nearby businesses, shopfronts, access routes, equipment positioning, signage, barriers and public safety.
High-level work required a tracked spider lift, with access permission and safe working zones planned before the work began.
What we did
- Cladding cleaning to lift dirt and pollution build-up.
- Render soft washing to treat algae and staining without damaging the surface.
- Downpipe clearance to support drainage.
- Bird spike installation to help manage bird-related issues.
The work was completed using site-specific planning, safe working zones and controlled cleaning methods.
The result
The frontage looked cleaner, brighter and more presentable. The project also showed that Tip Top can plan and deliver more than a straightforward clean. We can manage a full exterior maintenance package safely in a public-facing commercial environment.
